OASIS Spa & Salon - Dons Denim for a Cause
Employees participate in Lee National Denim Day®, one of the largest single-day fundraiser’s in the fight against breast cancer
WOODINVILLE, WA, October 1, 2007 - October 5 won’t be any ordinary casual Friday at OASIS Spa & Salon. The denim worn on this day will not only be worn for comfort, but it will also make a powerful statement for an important cause. As Lee National Denim Day moves into its twelfth year, OASIS Spa & Salon is gearing up to participate in their 4th year of the grassroots program which has raised more than $66 million for breast cancer research.
Participants are encouraged to wear denim in exchange for a $5 donation to the Women’s Cancer Programs of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF).
Funds will be used to support a groundbreaking scientific project to detect breast cancer in its earliest stage. They will also help accelerate treatment research and increase patient access to some of the most significant clinical trials in the nation, as well as support grassroots education programs across the country.
"Lee National Denim Day is extremely important to our employees, as many of them have been personally touched by the disease," said Michelle Michael, Director. "We enjoy participating tremendously because it empowers everyone to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer, it’s a great educational program within our work walls, and it is so easy for us to implement."
"When Denim Day began, we wanted to do something to fight breast cancer, but we didn’t know the kind of impact this grassroots program would have," said Liz Cahill, Vice President of Marketing Communications for Lee Jeans. "We are thrilled about the important, collaborative research supported by Denim Day donations, and we hope the millions of people who have united together and helped raise funds the past 12 years continue this journey with us because the advancements being made are so promising."
